Every year in October, thousands of students across Canada joined 400,000 of their peers, in over 60 countries, in celebration of the international day to empower youth with dignity, Global Dignity Day (GDD). In Canada, Global Dignity has been supported by Members of Parliament and Senators of all political stripes.
Established in 2005 by HRH Crown Prince Haakon of Norway, Global Dignity (GD) is an independent, non-profit, non-political organization linked to the 2020 process of the World Economic Forum, in which leaders from politics, business, academia, and civil society join efforts to improve the state of the world. It aims to inspire respect, self-esteem and tolerance of diversity, as well as promote the idea that every human being has the universal right to lead a dignified life.
M&C Consulting’s CEO and Co-Founder, Giovanna Mingarelli, is Global Dignity’s International Board Chair and Canadian Country Chair. M&C Consulting continues to sponsor and provide pro-bono event-planning and media services in support of this noble cause.
Each year we have supported the logistical planning of the national videoconference, connecting 2,000 students across multiple sites from Nunavut to British Columbia, as well as carried out all public relations activities. This includes the drafting and issuing of the multiple media advisories and press releases, in addition to caring for media enquiries.
